Lunchtime & After School Clubs
Please see below for the list of the current clubs which are running in school:
Spanish Club (Tuesday 12noon to 12.40pm)
Spanish club is run by Senora Garcia on Tuesday from 12.00 to 12.40pm
Hola! My name is Miss García and I am from sunny Sevilla, Spain. I have been teaching foreign languages for 4 years and I am specialised in Bilingual Education. In my opinion, teaching is the most rewarding job, especially when you see the progress of your students when they learn new content and they are able to put it in practice. In addition, I perceive teaching languages like something pleasant, as students can learn in different ways: watching movies, going abroad, playing, singing etc and this is what I try to transmit. Furthermore, languages are alive to be used in a real context and my dream as a teacher is to get fluent students while they have fun in my classes.
At Spanish club we want children to :
- Enjoy using a language other than English.
- Develop a better understanding of the English language, language learning and communication.
- Develop an awareness of cultural differences and develop a tolerance of diversity in society.
- Be open-minded and adventurous in all aspects of their learning.
A variety of techniques are used to ensure children enjoy learning Spanish. These include games, songs, storytelling and interactive ICT programmes. To bring Spanish to life real objects are used e.g. food and drink .We watch videos and listen to recordings to expose the children to more than one voice in Spanish. Spanish club is fun and enjoyable in order to develop a positive attitude towards learning a foreign language.
