Here are this week's certificate winners. We are very proud of the effort our children put into learning and behaving so well. Thank you as always for your support.

 

World book day.

This year the whole school focused on the book 'You must Bring a hat' by Simon Philip and Kate Hindley. Each year group took inspiration from the book and completed activities such as:

-writing invitations

-writing blurbs

-writing stories

-creating illustrations

-designing a party menu and making cakes to be served at a party

 

There was also a hat competition and the winners (as well as those who got a special mention award) got to pick a book from a selection in school. The winners were chosen for their creativity, originality and how well the hat related to the book.

As the Headteacher, I also would like to give a special mention to some of the staff who made a great 'hatty effort,' especially to:

Mrs Light (for her cryptic 3 bears hat that had so many of us fooled)

Mr Woodall (who also found the 'Where did you get that hat' track to play in assembly)

All our wonderful cleaning staff who were wearing their hats whilst cleaning the school on he morning of world book day, even before the children had not even had arrived!

 

The World book Day voucher

 

All the children have been given or will get a £1 world book day voucher. It can be used to buy the special £1 World Book Day books which can be found in bookshops and supermarkets (including Morrisons, Asda and Tesco) or it can be put towards the cost of another book of your choice. The voucher can also be used to get £1 off books in the Scolastic Book Club leaflet so please enclose the voucher with your payment. These leaflets will be given out very soon if not already distribute
