latest Coronavirus Information as of 19th March 10.30am

19/3/2020

Dear parent/carer,

Thank you for your support and understanding during the last few days. The situation is moving quickly, and we will do all we can to make sure you and your children are well supported and cared for. As soon as we know the latest updates we are working hard to respond quickly and thoughtfully.

The Government have said that schools have to remain open ‘indefinitely’ in term time and during holidays for children of ‘Key Workers’ and for ‘vulnerable’ children. We are currently waiting to know who falls into the category of ‘key worker’ and exactly which children the government mean in this situation when they refer to those who are ‘vulnerable.’

As soon as we know these definitions, we will be able to begin to create a list of children who we will expect to be in school from Monday 23rd March onward.

To ensure we are providing care for the ‘right’ families, we may need to ask those who are ‘Key Workers’ to identify themselves to school by providing us with some sort of workplace identification such as:
Workplace photographic ID (such as an NHS identification badge)
A letter or email on work headed paper, sent from the workplace email address of a line manager

As things stand, we understand that it might be that BOTH parents will need to fall into the category of ‘key worker’ for their child to be included in school-based care at this time. We are waiting for further clarification on this.

Thank you again for your understanding at this time and we’ll keep putting out information as we have it.
