At Ravensfield, we work hard to promote healthy lifestyles: ensuring the children know the benefits of improving their fitness and overall wellbeing through physical activity. Many children have really enjoyed the focus on running this year. 

Junior Parkrun

We had a visitor from Hyde Junior Parkrun who spoke to the children about this free weekly 2km run at 9 am on Sundays. It’s a fabulous opportunity to get children from 4-14 running to improve their fitness. Please visit www.parkrun.org.uk for further details of how to register. In order to take part, you need to register your child online, print off a barcode and bring it to the run. Parkrun policy states that children under 11 years old must be accompanied to/from the event by a parent/guardian and that the parent/guardian must stay at the event for the whole duration.

Your child may feel confident enough to run the whole distance, but if not the parkrun motto is ‘walk, run or jog’. We would welcome parents to register and volunteer as part of the parkrun community also.
