Christmas Tree Festival
St Mark's church has been sparkling with Christmas this weekend. Look at the wonderful trees our Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and 2 children have put together. Based on Myths, Fables and folklore, our four trees looked amazing. Nursery chose 'The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse', Reception chose 'The Hare and the Tortoise', Year 1 told the Manx tale of the Phynoderee and Year 2 told the story of Dick Whittington.
We also found trees our children had contributed to, such as the 2nd Dukinfield Beaver tree. Our younger children will be visiting the trees across the early part of this week.
Our KS1 and KS2 choirs sung beautifully at the festival on Saturday afternoon. They gave up their Saturday afternoon to put on their uniform and come along to church to sing a selection of favorites and Christmas songs. The audience were thrilled with the enthusiasm and joy the children showed. We are very proud indeed.
