If you have ever wanted to get more involved in a local primary school this is your chance. Ravensfield Primary School has a vacancy for a Parent school governor.
But what does being a school governor involve?
- The Full Governing Body meets once a term. Governors meetings are held in the evenings, starting at 6pm and finishing by 8pm.
- All the current governors are also members of one or two committees which meet at other times to discuss issues in depth and report back to the full governing body. We all receive copies of the minutes of all committee meeting to help keep track of what’s going on.
- You are always welcome (by prior arrangement) to visit school and become involved in activities.
Some of the content may be unfamiliar to you as much as changed in education since we were all in school but given time and support from the rest of the team and the training provided it should all fall into place. Induction training is given to all new governors and provides a good all-round look at the many aspects of being a governor.
