Welcome back for our Summer term. Together we will do the best possible job we can to make sure that your children are always learning, laughing and growing together.
Year One is a important year for the children, as they make their first steps onto the National Curriculum. We will continue to learn practically and through play, but also become more formal as the year progresses.
'Paws, Claws and Whiskers'
In this exciting topic the children will be learning about all sorts of animals. From the pets we keep, to the farm and wild animals all around the world. We will be investigating everything 'Paws, Claws and Whiskers!' They will look at the life cycles of animals in Science and learn about their growth and development and everything animals need in order to grow and stay healthy. At the start of this topic the children will have the opportunity to visit Stockley Farm where they will see the animals up close. They might even get the opportunity to feed and care for some of them.
This topic will start just before the end of Summer One and continue until the end of summer term.
