This summer term we are studying all about metals. As part of the topic we have read the book 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes. As part of design and technology the class have collected lots of junk modelling, where the children have worked in groups to create their own 'Iron Man' using the junk modelling materials.
Ancient Greek day
During Spring 1 term year 3 took part in an Ancient Greek workshop in school. The children learnt about where Greece is, how they founded democracy, the children took part in a play, completed a quiz, solved shape puzzles.
Then in the afternoon our visitor dressed up in full warrior gear and he explained to the children what it was made from and how soldiers went to war. We ended the day by taking part in our own Olympic games.
All in all it was a very good rewarding and informative day.
During the first term the class learnt all about flowers. What makes up a flower, the reproduction of a flower and finally during a lesson the class got to dissect a flower into its many parts and discuss what each parts is for.
Welcome to our topic page.
Our first topic in year 3 is predators. As part of this topic, we have real life owls coming into school from 'Gauntlet Birds of Prey' and we will be learning why they are such prolific predators. Furthermore, we will also look at other predators and how they are adapted to suit their environments.
