Pupil Premium funding was first introduced by the Government in April 2011 when school received additional funding for each pupil on roll entitled to free school meals.
In 2012/13 this funding was extended to include any pupil who had been entitled to free school meals during the last six years (known as Ever 6). It also includes pupils in the care of the local authority. From December 2013 a further category of eligibility was added this being pupils who were previously looked after and then adopted, or under special guardianship, or residency order on or after 30th December 2005. Pupils with a parent in the Armed Services also receive additional funding.
Although school have the freedom to spend Pupil Premium money as they see fit, schools are held accountable for the progress and achievement of those students in receipt of the funding.
Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
