Homework

Reading Books

The majority of our children get to practise their reading books at home which is brilliant and really allows them to embed their reading skills.  Thank you.

Please make time to hear your child read for 10 minutes each night.

Home School Books and Homework Books

A huge thank you to those parents who help with the homework each week.  We can really see the progress your children and making and the huge successes they are having.

Please make sure that do complete your child's homework each week.  This is vital for your child to reach their full potential in all areas of learning but most vitally in Communication and Language, Maths and Literacy.

The partnership between school and home is VITAL, and really accelerates learning.

If you are ever in need of clarification on homework please speak to your child's class teacher.

Words and Signs - Autumn 2 HOMEWORK

Each week your child will come home on a Friday with a new set of words to learn.  All these words have an action to go with them.  Don't worry it's not a memory test we will send actions home each week as we send new words.

Some of these words are able to split into their individual sounds, but most of them are irregular words and just need learning by sight.  These ware words they are going to come into contact with in their reading books and during letters and sounds time.

Below we have included the Powerpoint we use in school when rehearsing the words.

Any questions please speak to us!

Our homework for Autumn 1 is for your child to memorise 6 rhymes. In there homework book they have all the details.  The basic idea is for them to learn a rhyme by heart each week.  Once they can recite it they can colour in the brick on their Rhyme Wall.

Within their books they have a printed copy of all the words.
