Roald Dahl's 100th Birthday
Class 5 and 6 enjoyed celebrating Roald Dahl's 100th Birthday. We have been drawing pictures, writing poems, drawing Mr Twit's beard and describing it. We even watched a broadcast this week all about his life, books he wrote, films that were made of his books such as The BFG, interviews with stars and part of a live performance of Matilda.
Year 6 Class 11 Story Sharing
During the first half term Class 11 had been studying all about what it was like to be a child who was evacuated during the Second World War. They finally made books with marbled covers and these included illustrations to add interest. Each child's book was different. They decided to share their stories with year 3 who really enjoyed the experience. Each year 6 child read their story to a child in year 3. The children had the opportunity to question each year 6 about their story.
It was a lovely occasion for year 3 children to see how much older children can and have achieved.
Class 5 and Class 6 have been out on the school field running on the newly painted racing track. We challenged them to walk, jog and run 16 times around the track which would show they had run a mile. This is great practice for sports day.
Wacky Hair Day 2017
The school held a wacky hair day to help raise school funds towards the schools 10th celebration activities that are planned for September 2017.
