WELCOME TO CLASS 1
In Class 1 we begin our journey on the National Curriculum. We learn lots of new skills, including letter formation, phonics for reading and writing and lots of numeracy. To help us develop we have to become strong and determined learners who never give up. We understand that every mistake is an opportunity for learning.
We are very lucky to have specialist Spanish and Music teachers visiting and helping us learn these new skills.
Summer 1 - Paws, Claws and Whiskers!
Our topic this term is Paws, Claws and Whiskers. We will be learning
about the differences between animals and humans, where animals
live in the wild and their habitats. Our writing focus will be books
including animals, such as Farmer Duck and Pig in the Pond.
We are very lucky to have already had a visit from the PDSA to
introduce our topic and explain to the children how we should care
for our animals.
We will also be visiting Stockley Farm on 3rd May
2017 to support the children’s learning in this topic. If you have not
yet paid for the trip, please do so as soon as possible. We are also
hoping to have a visit from Ringo the Police Dog to show us how
much he has grown since his last visit.
Stockley Farm Visit - 3rd May 2017
